Over the Hill -^-^-^- On the Loose

We are the Erickson’s,  Layne and Becky

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.  We are new to blogging and welcome you to follow along with us on our journey.

First, let me tell you a little bit about us and why we are here.  I’m Becky, and I will be doing most of the posting.  I am looking forward to retirement in (1 Year, 2 Months, 1 Week and 5 Days) but who’s counting!  I have been the Elko County Treasurer for the last 11 years and I was the Deputy Treasurer for 18 years before that.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and I will miss it and all the people I work with.  It has been a wonderful journey and I have met so many people.  I just think after 30 years it is time for Layne and I to focus more on each other, our family, our health and reconnecting with nature.

Layne is a Crane Operator here in Elko, Nevada.  He has a few more years to work, but is looking forward to having a “Housewife” for awhile. (I couldn’t be more excited to fill that roll.)

We recently purchased a 2013 Pleasure-Way Plateau TS camper van.  We named him “Cosmo” because he will be our transportation to all the places where Heaven meets Earth.  The Cosmos is generally defined as, “an orderly and harmonious universe”.  This sounds like a good way to travel to us.  We want to take it all in and reconnect with all that we have missed.

We are both “Over the Hill” but not quite “On the Loose” yet.  This blog will be a journal of our thoughts and preparation for our definition of “having escaped from confinement”.
